Through guided meditation, silence, prayer, and discussion, this retreat gathers men around the challenges they encounter as they seek to live out their deepest values.

uMen's Contemplative Spirituality Group

This is a monthly ongoing support group for men seeking to integrate contemplative spirituality into their active lives.  No experience with contemplative prayer is necessary, but an openness to its possibilities.  Drop-ins are welcome.

Cynthia Bourgeault is an Episcopal Priest, writer and retreat leader. She is presently director of the Contemplative Society in Victoria, British Columbia. She has authored three books; the latest title, "The Wisdom way of Knowing-Reclaiming an Ancient Tradition to Awaken the Heart".

Intensive Centering Prayer Retreat

Friday, May 30, 2008, 7 PM to Sunday, June 8, 2008, 1 PM
Check-in: 6:15 - 6:45 PM (no Friday evening meal)

Fee $500 (includes meals and overnight accommodations)

A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required at the time of registration. Sponsorship assistance available.
A silent retreat for those who have been practicing centering prayer for at least six months. Each day will have three one-hour sessions of centering prayer in 20- or 30-minute segments with a five-minute contemplative walk between segments. Daily videotapes on the spiritual and psychological foundations of Christian contemplative prayer will be shown with time for questions, reflective comments and discussion following each viewing.

Anyone who has been practicing centering prayer is welcome.

Centering Prayer is a way of praying that invites us to let go of the busyness of our lives to "rest" in God. Learn the method of this traditional Christian prayer and its effects on our lives.
