According to the Bible, the rain in the great flood is said to have lasted for 40 days;
the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years; and
Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights.
Lent is 40 days long.
Can we devote 40 minutes per day during Lent to Centering Prayer?
