Christmas, a traditional time of giving, presented me with a new awareness this year. Each one of us carries the Christ energy. We don’t need to seek God. God is and has been in us all along.
Jesus understood this reality, lived it, and taught it. He was the model. Christmas is the celebration of Incarnation, God within all creation. Like Jesus, ours is the task of recognizing, embracing, and living it. All we have to do is be still, be aware, and allow the God energy within to flow from our hearts.
Here in Minnesota in January with temperatures in single digits, ice on the streets and sidewalks, and snow covering the ground, I am taking time, alone and with others, to be quiet and to treasure the incarnational gift of God within and around me.
